In the fourth quarter of 2023, the carpooling and ridesharing sector saw varied performances among the top apps on the Android platform in the United States, as reported by Sensor Tower. Here's a brief overview of how these apps fared in terms of downloads and weekly active users.

Uber - Request a ride experienced a fluctuating trend in downloads, starting at 100K in the final week of September and seeing a slight dip to 91K by mid-December, before rising to 91K at the year's end. The app's weekly active users began at 5.1M, peaked at 5.6M towards the end of October, and ended the quarter with 4.4M.

Lyft showed a more consistent download trend, with numbers hovering around the 80K to 98K range throughout the quarter. The app's active user base started strong at 2.6M, reached a high of 2.8M in late October, and concluded the quarter with 2.2M active users.

For Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver, downloads were generally stable, ranging between 52K and 62K. The app's weekly active users saw a peak of 752K in early December, with the quarter closing at 662K.
